Year of the Snake (10th Feb 2013)

Striking a cool pose - 大年初一穿新袍,准备出门拿红包!

The boys were counting down to Chinese New Year during the week leading up to the festivities. For Kayden, he was looking forward to the long holidays and the red packets as he now has a better appreciation of the value of money and has started saving his allowances. For Tristan, the CNY holidays means no school, lots of goodies and sweet cold drinks for him to indulge in!

1 traditional costume that fits 2 boys :)
We have kind of stuck to the visiting routine of the last few years and Kayden still had fond memories of last year's once-a-year visits - "You mean we are going to the house where I can play computer games? Is that the house where I can run up and down and play hide and seek? Where is the dog?" We have had quite a few rounds of lo-hei and this year Kayden participated with his loud cries of "Huat ah kafe" as he was so amused by the animated advertisement jingle.

Tristan is no longer that shy little boy that required warm-ups and would hide behind us. Although he is still rather soft in uttering his CNY greetings, he will start to bulldoze around the houses and have fun after that.

We enjoyed the 4 days of feasting, visiting and gatherings and before Kayden hit the sack on Tuesday night, he weighed himself and declared happily that he has put on weight! It was the case for the rest of us too!
