We boarded the 1am flight and as expected, they were struggling to keep themselves awake during boarding. While T slept throughout the flight, K woke up a few hours later to enjoy the inflight entertainment.

Day 1 - Recuperating from flight and hence only hung out near hotel and explored the Umeda underground shops. Supermarketing is a must no matter where we are and we started attacking the big juicy strawberries that were in season!
Day 2 - Took the train to Kyoto for day trip. First stop was the beautiful Arashiyama river and we took the Hozu-Gawa 2 hour boat ride through it where we enjoyed the mild rapids, beautiful scenery and even spotted wilds deers, birds and monkeys!
We were tired out from walking and took a cab after this to Kiyomizudera as they were having the Lantern Festival. The streets were so crowded and the boys were so absorbed with the street performance by 2 entertainers. It was really cold as we walked up to the temple and we had to whipped out all the necessary to keep the 2 boys warm. We had a late dinner at one of the eateries down the hill and it was good fun sitting out in the open slurping hot udon and accompanied by the beautiful night lights.
Day 4 - Met mummy's friend at Namba early in the morning and we went on a spree at Daiso and Den den town whereby everyone had their fair share of shopping, including K who spent his savings and part of his Yen on some toys. We walked down to Shishaibashi to meet the Glico man and part ways before dinner.
Day 5- Last day in Osaka and we finally visited Mr Momofuku at the Nissin Cup Noodle Musuem! We had some fun customising our own cup noodles which we have yet to taste them and we finally understood how cup noodles was invented. We have frequented Ippudo in Singapore and when we saw it in Osaka, we just have to eat there! All of us love noodles and we really had our fill during the trip as we had noodles everyday!
We made a dash for Rinku Town after this even though it was raining.
Before we boarded the plane, we kind of lost control at the airport and bought lots of goodies and were feeling sad that the holiday was ending. The boys loved it and K was telling us when school started that he has started saving up for a Japan trip for the June holidays but we have to set the expectations right that we do not go for overseas trip every school holiday and we would not be visiting Japan till a long time to come.
The 3 boys had fun with the pebbles at the river and papa impressed all of us with his stone skipping techniques with a maximum of 5 skips!
After a great lunch at a handmade soba and tofu restaurant, we made our way to Kinkakuji temple. It was 5 minutes to 5pm when we were approaching the gates and we had to run towards it as the temple wardens shouted to approaching visitors that the gates were closing! K said he wanted to taste the temple as it looks like chocolate and hence the below picture.

Day 3 - To Osaka Aquarium or Kaiyukan! The boys love the place and got all excited over the manta rays, and sharks and of course, the whale shark, which papa claimed has grown since our honeymoon visit 9 years ago. The pouring rain that afternoon spoiled our plans to visit Den den town and we were stuck at Kurumon market for quite a long while.

Day 6 & 7 - Tokyo DisneySea and DisneyLand
We took the 630am Noizumi and made it to Tokyo by 9am. Hailed a cab that costs us almost $100 to Sheraton Grande as there was no way we could have made it with the amount of luggage we had and 2 kids. Both parks were very crowded though we were there on a Thursday and Friday. The Japs are really truly in love with Mickey& friends.
It was freezing at some point at DisneySea and we took to the indoors to watch the night parade. The boys had a better time at Disneyland as they had more rides and it was not as cold. We had a great time sitting on the streets for both the day and night parades.
