| Sketch, colour and trace |
It has been a long while since we air-dried the bushes and paints at home and we decided to spend some time playing with them last sunday. The boys were really enthusiastic and we agreed on the theme "Ocean Creatures". They flipped through a few picture books on ocean and sea creatures before K declared "I want to use my own imagination."
Technology comes to the rescue again as we searched through the internet for some simple illustrations of octopus, whale shark, seahorse etc. T added a yellow flying fish in his drawing while K included a treasure chest and diver in his and finished up with a beautiful and colourful skyline. It took them 1.5 hours to complete the paintings and it was certainly not easy for them as their enthusiasm and patience were dwindling after the 1 hour mark.
We have not detected any artistic streak in either of them. Papa asked if T was interested in art classes but decided to take his words back almost immediately as he realised it will mean more ferrying for him and further damage to the pockets.
