K's Second Inter-school Taekwondo Competition - 2015

Kayden was having a fever during his poomsae competition (22 Apr, wednesday) and was not his usual perky self. The adrenaline arising from the event probably kept him going from early morning all the way until the prize presentation in the evening.

He managed to squeeze into the semi finals with a score of less than 5 and did really well to qualify for the finals. We did not want him to overexert and was all ready to bring him home for a much needed rest but he persisted. The paracetamol helped to control his temperature but he had no appetite and ate very little that day. During the finals, he put in his very best effort but almost slipped when he executed his side kick. He broke down immediately after his score was announced and he wrapped it up as the second best.

Back home, he kept questioning his loss and it took a few days before he stopped talking about it. That said, it does not mean that he has forgotten about his mistake and his medal loss as he would bring it up again when the topic is triggered. This boy is just so serious about the competition and the results but we take heart that he does have a very positive attitude and good fighting spirit.

A silver for poomsae after losing to his team mate of the same name

He recovered by Thursday and was all ready for the kyrogi compeititon on Friday. He fought well for his first 3 bouts and landed in the finals against Darren (again!). Although he had to settle for silver, he managed to score a point against his opponent this time.
Thank you Mr Suren for his coaching efforts - K, Randall & Darren
