Kayden's 10th birthday @ Tag Team ECP

They say the days are long but the years are short and we are in total agreement as our first born has turned 10 today. In our minds and eyes, it just does not seem that long ago when he was all wrinkly and tiny, growing and executing his funny little antics just like his baby sister.

It was his bug 2-digit 10th birthday overall and we thought he deserved a special treat for being independent in taking on his responsibilities for the first half of the year. He and his gang of brothers and good friends had such a blast yesterday at East Coast Park's Parkland Green playing laser tag, followed by soccer at the open field. K claimed that it was his best birthday ever!

Although we decided on having a party for the small group of 12 just late last week, organising it was fairly hassle-free as the venue and time slot was available (lucky us), the rsvps from parents and kiddos were prompt and we only have to settle food! We kind of knew that the decision to have a laser tag/quest party would be a hit with this group of 8-10 year old boys.

The 5-mission game lasted just over an hour but this group of energetic boys continued running around the field for a good 1.5 hours after that. All of us were battling the hot sun and the high humidity levels with cold drinks which were replenished twice at the nearby convenience store and caffeine addicts got their fix from the local kopi and teh from around the corner while ice-cream treats were bought from another cafe. While the boys had their fun, little Reanne and Penelope had theirs over at the bouncy castle set up by Pick Me Up Cafe.

Seeing the birthday boy's gleeful face and the drenched with perspiration but happy faces of the children made the last minute rush to put this together so worth it.
