The boys seem to have this ability to spot toys, interesting knick knacks and places to go across boring mediums like newspapers, commercialised pamphlets and even notices at lift lobbies. And yes, the folks at our Jurong Bird Park have done a fantastic job in showcasing their revamped water themepark and in creating fun-filled imagery that has proven to be successful in capturing their young minds. As the story goes, they requested for the trip and after a few reminders here and there, we just have to make it happen.
The camera man amongst us had a field day photographing the birds while the camera apps user busied herself photographing the kids.
We visited the penguins, saw plenty of flamingoes, parrots and cockatoos, went in search of owls in the World of Darkness, caught the hawks and eagles show and the "all-in-one" bird show at the amphitheatre. Thanks to the picture books we have at home, the boys were able to name some of these birds and were excited to be able to see the "real thing."
We were moving along happily when Tristan asked to see the pandas......Perhaps he was just a little disappointed when he was told that there were only birds. We asked Kayden to rate and compare and he declared that it was more fun at this park. Well, we have been frequenting the zoo for the past few years so we guessed this was a change even though it was his second visit. But, the water themepark probably sealed the deal as he was all eager to get wet right from the park's entrance and he did have a superb time there.
Although it was just the 4 of us, it was all great and thoroughly fun! And as we did not take the panarail nor visit the man-made waterfall, we should be back again sometime later for those and hopefully, the discount for the tickets will still be valid!
