This box of colour pencils is being used by K & T for their daily doodling.
They are extra special and mean a lot to mummy as they were hers from more than 20 years ago and used during her primary school days. Por Por had painstakingly collated and kept them in such good condition (all nicely sharpened when given) after so many years and passed them on to you boys a few years ago.
It is simply nostalgic just looking at them as the shorter or missing ones were probably mummy's favourites back then while the longer or seemingly unused ones were kind of neglected due to her colour preferences. Besides the dual-ended Colleen coloured pencils, there were also a couple of others which were all collated in the box, including a yellow "outline pencil" which was used gifted and used her art class days!
Life was much simpler in the good old days without the distraction of those "in-collaboration" or fancy stationery. We treasured what we were given and were taught to not waste them. These days, the boys receive goodie bags filled with treats and stationery on a monthly basis and more so during certain months and are always eager to open and use the new ones. We are rationing them with the hope that they will understand and appreciate that resources should not be wasted. This little box of treasure certainly deserve a space in this memory box.
K's classmate just outdone the rest by giving all his friends an adorabe animal balloon as part of his birthday goodie pack.
