Here Comes the Year of the Horse

We love the Chinese New Year for the festivities, the public holidays, gatherings, steamboat and goodies and to the boys, the Ang Pows of course! For the record, K has requested for a cash count of his Ang Pow takings this year.

As usual, the boys started the celebrations early in their schools and this year, they donned the same outfit across 2 different days for their respective schools' CNY celebrations. 二姑姑must be glad that we could get so much mileage out of this set of clothing that she passed down.

We filled our tummies during reunion lunch and dinner on the eve and that marked the beginning of our CNY feasting much to the dismay of our bigger bellies and rounded faces. It has been a tradition for us to buy them new clothes and PJs, very much like how it used to be for us. Hence, the boys were quite excited when we let them wear their new Planes and Ironman PJs which we bought during last year's Italy trip on the eve.

We did some visiting during the first 3 days and had 2 family gatherings over at our cave. There were many rounds of Yu Sheng tossing this year which K labelled as 'doing the huat-ah thing'. Although we are officially done with the CNY season last friday (i.e. after the 15th day of the first lunar month), there are still goodies around the house and stored in the fridge, the result of our JB shopping trip couple of weeks before CNY and the CNY factory shopping trip! We have overstocked the house this CNY but it was good fun when we were at it!
Huat Ah!!!
