Kayden's bold statement

K came back in early May to inform us about the school's participation in Hair for Hope 2014 and decided to support the event by going bald! To demonstrate support, papa decided to join him too. He was out for an excursion at the Jurong Bird Park on 22 May during the school's satellite event but both father and son trooped down to our friendly neighbourhood barber to have their hair shaved, leaving just 2mm!

His bold statement and kind gesture was supported by family, friends and colleagues and was a memorable experience to this young boy. He felt awkward and shy initially and was reluctant to go for his taekwondo lessons as classmates, neighbours and friends would comment on his new "botak" hairstyle, which is possibly just part of what young children and patients with cancer would go through. A useful life lesson and T also voiced that he would like to do so in future.

18 generous contributions - THANK YOU!
