Kayden & Tristan's interest in Taekwondo

Kayden took part in the annual Poomsae competition again in early June and bagged a silver in the Poom boys category for 6 to 8 year olds. The competition was a necessary booster to sustain his interest and to challenge himself as he is now 3.5 years into the sport and it would be another couple of years before he goes for his next grading. Besides the competition, the Induk also gathered a few of the kids who took part in last year's national demonstration competition for a performance during STF's 40th anniversary just before start of the new school term. 

It was an eye-opener for all of us as we witnessed how the experienced and skillful masters and coaches of various schools and clubs, including a very senior sportswoman and two sportsmen performed together for the event. 

Tristan's interest in TWD was stoked recently due partly to his attendance for K's rehearsals and practices. He was enthusiastic about their dance moves and various kicks which the performers executed and was practising them at home. After a few weeks of cajoling, he finally donned the dobok and attended his very first lesson last sunday - 6th July 2014!
