Cruise to Port Klang and Phuket

28 Nov - 2 Dec 2016

We went onboard the Royal Carribean's Mariner of the Seas as a party of 12, together with Jiujiu and Jiuma's family.

In summary, the food was great and there were more than enough activities to keep the children occupied even though we did not disembark at both destinations. The boys had such a great time together and were mighty impressed with the facilities as it was their first cruise trip, except for Kayden.

We were impressed by the overall food and service, especially our dining experience at their main dining hall where the quality of the food was way better than our previous cruise experiences. We had 2 adjourning cabins for the 6 of us and the size was reasonable too.

The boys did what they loved on land at sea - ice-skating (twice), floated and swam, did rock-climbling and had their fill of soccer and basketball where they made new friends too. Papa tried his luck at the casino and we were surprised at how open the casino was as everyone was able to enter and walk through the casino to the other end of the ship. It was an eye-opener for the kids.

It is not an overstatement when we said that the adults ate to their hearts' content. Porpor enjoyed the food and ate quite well during the trip too despite her condition. If your bellies are still unfilled after the mains or multiple mains, the variety of dessert that was available would definitely do the job in filling it up. And if one should feel an emptiness in the belly in the night, the 24-hours cafe or supper served at Windjammers would do the job. Just writing about this and reminiscing about the food is making me hungry now!

This was little Reanne's first overseas trip and she was clinging onto mummy like a koala to the eucalyptus tree most parts of the trip. Poor mummy was stuck to her and could not enjoy most of the activities onboard. Mummy's back was in real need of a good back massage after the trip. She had so much junk food during the trip and broke all meal rules as she feasted on fruits, juices, fries and desserts. Porridge and rice were rejected but seriously, if we were in her shoes, we would have partied on the exciting variety of food that was available and ignored the usual boring staples too.
