He did well during the board-breaking ceremony where he vowed to stop whining when he wakes up in the mornings. He is trying hard and we have been telling him the best way to overcome it is to sleep early. He is not an early riser like K and we do joke about his morning antics. He needs to be dragged out of bed at times, nudged to take each bite of his breakfast and to keep himself awake as there have been many occasions where he will continue to snooze on the couch and there was once, he was so sleepy that he did a "superman"!
Looking back, it has been close to 3 years since he started the sport. We always believe that the boys should channel their energies into sports and are so glad that they are both enjoying the same sport. This common interest would constitute a conversation topic within the family for a long time to come as we have spent years supporting both of them in this sport.
He started joining the sparring team's training sessions on friday nights and sunday late afternoons and is enjoying himself. Bruises and injuries are nothing out of blue when sparring is concern but he just seemed less hardy compared to K due to his skinny physique.
Well, we can't stop him as he loves the training sessions. Hopefully, the continuous drilling by the coaches, camaraderie with his taekwondo buddies and physical training could toughen him up both physically and mentally.
