The eleven-year old Kayden

K had decided on his birthday meal of choice more than a month ago - korean army hotpot (budae jjigae)! In fact, the boys love it so much since it was introduced at home a few months ago that they have requested for it to be monthly dinner feature.

Our first attempt on 30 April
For his choice of cake, he was less enthusiastic as he is really not a desserts kind of boy and chocolatey cakes (mummy and Tristan's love) do not get him excited too. He has always been very supportive of the muffins and cupcakes which mummy has baked! His enthusiastic shout of "Yes!" to the idea of having home-baked choc-chip muffins with cream cheese frosting got mummy all worked up too. What an incredible sweet and easy to please son we have here! But, the catch here is that mummy has never done any frosting before and has limited backing experience (3 successful attempts of blueberry cake, less than 5 times in baking muffins&cupcakes and 2 tries at cookies).

He loved the muffins even though the frosting was overly sweet and was so amateurish, enjoyed the family dinner at home and has been putting the blue-tooth earphones to frequent use. As long he was happy, that was all that mattered! This boy can be so understanding and sensible most times, is independent and dependable and seemed like the dream son for most parents. Everybody have their quirks and tempers but we are so proud and so blessed to have him as our eldest baby. Happy 11th big boy!
