Let's go to the Zoo!

Its been quite a few months since we last visited the Zoo and the folks decided to take a gamble with the weather today! As we started our journey, the dark clouds gathered and threathened to spoil our day trip but we kept our fingers crossed and hoped for the best......and it turned out that we won the bet! The weather was cool and it only started drizzling after we were done with the expedition and had adjourned for late lunch and Ben&Jerrys.

I was fascinated by the stripey handsome-looking zebras and am getting a bit more discerning now as I know they are not "dog". Along the way, we visited the polar bear enclosure (a must-see for every visit) and saw Inuka folicking with a huge styrofoam bolster! We zoomed past the herd of rhinoceros as the smell from them was really over-powering. We also spotted the white tigers, giraffes, gibbons, buaya, monkeys and chimpanzees as we took a leisurely stroll in the gardens and popped over to the Children's Play Land for some fun.

Look, its a pony in disguise!
A close encounter with this cheeky little monkey
