Kayden spent his last day at the Kindergarten on 20th May (Wed) and though we have been telling him about his last day at school, he did not exhibit any negative feelings or sadness at all. Instead, this boy is more forward-looking as he was more excited about the new school. We reckoned this might be good in many ways as the positive feelings about the new school will help ease him into the new environment, new people and new timings and hopefully, the change will rid the "I dont want to go school" sentiment in him which we have been managing for the past 2 months.
On 19th May, he spent some time after his nap making simple "Thank You" cards for his teachers and principal and we all went out to get a little cake for him to bring along to share with his classmates on his last day. Its definitely not for his birthday but we know he will think otherwise and from the pictures taken by the teachers, it does look like they were clapping and singing a song in which he ended up blowing the candle! He is really obsessed with candle-blowing as he will request to do it everytime he eats a cake.
He started full day childcare on 25th May and this arrangement has really brought about a great sense of relief to the care-givers at home, especially papa, who has been juggling work, ferrying responsibilities and attending to this little Mr Naughty's needs. The routine has just started but it has worked out well thus far :)
