Bottle Tree Park @ Yishun

We took a walk at the Bottle Tree Park last Sunday and had our dinner there too. We had visited the one at Sembawang about 3 years ago but the boys were too young to remember the place and hence this seemed to be a whole new experience for them. There is this rustic kampong feel about the place but as we walked towards the lake, the MRT track and the passing trains will remind you that this is still as Singapore as it gets.

The outer perimeter of the park was relatively quiet as the activities were happening near the lake house. There was a commotion when someone caught a huge catfish and we were just in time to witness the haul. Based on the house rules, the catch was released back into the lake after picture-taking.

There was a crowd at the longkang fishing area where lots of kids and a couple of adults (who flouted the rules ) were waddling in the pond and having a great time catching the little fishes. K was dying to join in the fun but we could only do that the next time as there was no an extra set of clothing for him. We will be back soon!
