T's miserable 4 days

K came down with a fever last Friday afternoon with no other symptoms but we were glad he recovered fast enough for his concert he following day. But now, T is down and in a bad way.

He came down with a fever and mild cough on Monday (Schoolhouse holiday) and on Tuesday evening, numerous little mouth ulcers (white dots and red fiery ones) appeared. We knew the worst has yet to come and true enough, we now have a super whiny, miserable boy who cannot eat, drink and speak. The doctor did not confirm if it was HFMD as there were no spots on his palms and soles. We are ever so thankful that we have a patient helper to care for him and we tried our best to coax and distract him with cold drinks and treats, TV and Youtube videos while keeping our fngers crossed that he will heal quickly.

T was whining and in pain on Wednesday and Thursday and it only got better for him on Friday evening. He had a bowl of porridge and spoke in full sentence. The doc gave him the all clear on saturday and concluded that it was not HFMD but a similar strain of the virus. We were so happy when he requested cereals for breakfast and we are all ready to fatten him after the past few days of diet.
