Learning with kids

Learning is a lifelong journey and no matter how old or young we are......there are always that little bit of information we can pick up along the way, even if its from young children.

About planets
K came home a couple of weeks ago and told us that pluto is no longer a planet and there are now only 8 planets going round the sun. We were glad that we already knew this but when he started asking us about the names of planets.....we hesitated. Thats when he started singing a very catchy planet song to help refresh our memories - to the tune of She's coming round the mountain. We have been singing and humming the song since.
There r 8 planets going round the sun (x2)
Mercury, venue, mars, earth....jupiter, saturn, uranus, neptune going round the sun!

The months
Again, he started the months song(think London Bridge is falling down) around the house and to help him gain a better idea of this time concept we shared the birthday months of familiar people around him. He lamented that he will have to wait soooo long before his birthday arrives but he was glad that Tristan's birthday will take even longer!

Exercising
We have got a new gadget at home that is used only on weekends. The aftermath is pretty challenging for old bones (if we have really been engaged long enough) as it leaves us aching for a few days. What we learned from K is that in order to SCORE, you have to really work it - go all out and shake/flap your limbs and move your body and do it fast! Because if you are passive like T, you will be left behind.
