Welcoming 2009

Our whole family has been looking forward to a brand new year, with new beginnings, hopes, wishes and luck. The past year has been great but slightly marred by a couple of incidents that happened towards the end of the year. Although there have been loads of negative statistics and reports lately, we remain optimistic that 2009 will be a good one where all whom we care about will be blessed with good health, the kids will have lots of fun as they grow and develop and there will still be a stable stream of income for us to indulge ourselves and keep up with our growing expenses!

Kayden has not grown much over the past year in terms of weight but has improved tremendously in terms of his linguistic skills. He is able to speak fairly well in English and respond in sentences but is still rather reluctant to speak in mandarin althought he does understand the language. His appetite has improved generally and is becoming more adventurous with food but his energy level is still as high, if not higher than before and hence is still very lean. Like a typical 2 year old, he is struggling with independence by learning to self-feed and to do a lot of things by himself and as parents, we certainly encourage that.

Baby Tristan is a happy 2 month old babe and is growing really well. This little bundle of joy is also the bestest thing to have happened for our family in 2008! He has developed "5 rings of muscles" on each arm to date and weighs approximately 6 kilos (certainly chubbier than his big bro), definitely a far cry from his birth weight and size. This little boy loves to be entertained and for his minders and entertainers, you will be rewarded with his huge toothless grins and babyish laughter!
